ZoeMovieReviews: Top Gun

Top Gun This is a 1986 American action drama film directed by Tony Scott, and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The Plot As students at the United States Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class, one audacious young pilot learns a few things from a citizen instructor that are not taught in the classroom. Well this is decent. I enjoyed some parts of this film and some parts are quite bland. I really thought giving a re-watch of this I would still like most of the film, but unfortunately not. This is an iconic film though. The acting in this film is really good. Tom Cruise is good as usual. The score and the soundtrack to this film I absolutely loved. The most enjoyable and witty scene from this film is when Maverick starts singing to a young lady. I thought that was sweet, yet cringey but funny at the same time. The ending to this film was really...

ZoeMovieReviews: Moulin Rouge!

Moulin Rouge!   This is a 2001 Australian–American pastiche-jukebox musical film directed, produced, and co-written by Baz Luhrmann. The Plot   A poet falls for a beautiful courtesan whom a jealous duke covets in this stylish musical, with music drawn from familiar 20th century sources. This film is amazing. I am so surprised at how good this film is. Ewan McGregor’s singing voice is wonderful, so is Nicole Kidman’s. When they both sing its magical. The singing is so romantic and emotional at times, it is truly great! The acting in this film is just so utterly brilliant. I loved the soundtrack as well.   I loved this film so much but the ending is quite sad (no spoilers though!!) This film can be very witty yet very emotional at times. Overall, this film is great. I highly recommend it probably one of the better modern 00s musical films out there. This is so good. ...

ZoeMovieReviews: Footloose

Footloose   This is a 1984 American musical drama film directed by Herbert Ross. The Plot   A city teenager moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the general public. This film is really good. I love it. It is an 80s classic. I loved the way the film introduced itself at the start. The acting and the soundtrack to this film is amazing. I must admit this is one of the better and good musical films out there (the remake is awful).   Kevin Bacon is amazing the whole way through. I loved his dance solo scene that was so good. I also liked the scenes when he teaches his friend who can’t dance to dance. This is just generally really good, the scene where they try to burn the bibles was quite funny. Overall, I loved it. This is a film I can watch over and over again. I highly recommend this. Rating:...
