My Bloody Valentine
This is a 1981 Canadian slasher film directed by George
Mihalka and written by John Beaird.
The Plot
An old man tells a story that happened a decade ago surrounding
a deranged murderer killing those who celebrate Valentine's Day. It turns out to be real when a young teenager
group dares the killer's order and people start turning up dead.
I really enjoyed this film a lot. This film actually
surprised me to be honest, didn’t know what to expect and thought it be one of
those typical slasher films, but it isn’t. This film is something different.
This is such a very fun film to watch! I loved the fun ‘country
music’ and men joking around in the shower at the start. This made the film open up to be bit more of
an interesting and fun horror film to watch.
The acting in this film I thought was really good. There are
times in the film where it gets intense which I liked, whereas some horror
films I don’t feel that to be honest. This made the film to be more gripping
and stimulating.
There are so many funny little scenes in this film. My favourite
was when one of the guys pretends he is bleeding to death. That made me laughs
and smile so much!!
There is some lovely gore in this film. I wished there was
more, but I believe they cut some of it out I’m afraid. However, all the gore
scenes that there was in this film I really liked.
I really liked the fact that the ‘killer’ had a bit of a
mystery to him. I really liked the mystery behind it. I liked the fact you didn’t
know what he looked like throughout the movie – so it was interesting when you
see the killers face in the end and reasoning’s behind it.
I loved the final act of this film. There were a lot of
intense scenes at the mining place. This made me feel I was at the edge of my
seat. This made me enjoy and like the film even more.
Overall, I really liked this film a lot. I would highly
recommend you this see this – it is witty, intense and has good amount of gore
in it!! This ones perfect for Halloween or Valentine’s Day. It is great film
for horror fans that haven’t seen it yet as well!
