ZoeMovieReviews: House on Haunted Hill

House on Haunted Hill

This is a 1959 American horror film. It was directed by William Castle and written by Robb White. It stars Vincent Price as peculiar millionaire Frederick Loren.

The Plot

A millionaire and his wife invite five people to spend a night in a haunted house. Whoever manages to survive will receive $10,000, but collecting money isn’t as easy as it seems.

This is a black and white film. The transfer to this film onto DVD is great!

I really enjoyed this film a lot. I really liked the whole plot concept. This is such a fun classic black and white horror film to watch.

The acting throughout this film was really good. All the actors/actresses acted great.

The score and the music effects to this film was good. It definitely set the creepy and spooky vibe to the film.

When the chandelier drops on the floor and some doors closing and creaking; there are some classic spooky elements that happen in the film.

There are some great scenes in this film. When the woman just stands their and blood off the ceiling starts dripping on her hand. That was cool. Also, when the woman sees a creepy woman flowing past her and she screams that was very funny. Another great scene is when a woman is hung to the ceiling.

I liked the ending to this film. Especially the part when skeleton rises from the acid accompanied by Loren's ghostly voice. As the animated spectre approaches, Annabelle screams in horror, accidentally falling into the acid herself.

Overall, I really enjoyed this film. There were a lot of great scenes and acting. The whole film was really good. I would highly recommend this film if you are new to horror, like horror or just want to watch a fun Vincent Price film.
