Saw

This is a 2004 American horror film. It is directed by James Wan. The film stars Cary Elwes and Leigh. It is the first instalment of the seven-part Saw franchise.

The Plot

Two men who find themselves chained in a dilapidated subterranean bathroom, with one being ordered to kill the other or his family will die.

I really liked this film a lot. I thought there would be lot more extreme gore in this, but there isn’t really. I liked the whole film ‘franchise’ concept. I can’t wait to see Saw 2!

The saw score in this film was really good. This score made me feel intense at times.

The acting in this film was good. The Jigsaw character wasn’t what I expected to be. He seemed to be a pretty cool badass horror killer. I thought he was that puppet thing, but he wasn’t.

I really liked the opening scenes in this film. Thought it was great, especially the bit when the man wakes up from the bath and doesn’t know where it is.

I liked how it would go to the past before the two people were in the dilapidated subterranean bathroom. That made the film lot more interesting.

There are some pretty cool gore scenes in this. When the woman goes to stab the man’s stomach and pulls out he’s intestines to get the key. Also, when the Doctor saws off he’s foot. That was great! There aren’t many gory scenes in this film, I thought it be jam packed full of them. It didn’t disappoint me at all.

I really liked the ending to the film. I am glad the Doctor managed to get away.

Overall, I liked this film. I liked it more than I thought I would. This film did not disappoint me at all. I am glad that I have finally gotten round to seeing this. I would highly recommend this film it is a very good horror film. Anyone who loves horror will like this! I cannot wait to watch/review saw 2!
