Inside Out   This is a 2015 American 3D computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed and co-written by Pete Docter. The Plot After young Riley is displaced from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.   This film is good. Well so good. This film looks brilliant to look at on the screen. It is very beautiful to look at. This film is amazing because it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. In this film you can actually feel emotions. I love all of the different characters/emotions in this film – they are all likeable! This film is one of my favourite Pixar films by far. I’ve watched it 3 times already, it’s that good. I loved every bit of the film. It is kind of like a feel g...

ZoeMovieReviews: Cinderella

Cinderella             This is a 2015 American romantic fantasy film, directed by Kenneth Branagh.   The Plot   When her father suddenly passes away, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming step-sisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begins to change after meeting a dashing stranger.               Wow such a good live action Disney film. I am so surprised usually the live action ones aren’t as good as the original Disney classics. This one I loved.   I like how it has narrative storytelling in this version of the film. It is beautifully stunning to look it; the cinematography is just amazing!! In other words this is like a posh period drama style of Cinderella.   I really did like the period fashion in this film I thought it was great.     ...

ZoeMovieReviews: City of the Living Dead

City of the Living of the Dead                 This is a 1980 Italian horror film directed by Lucio Fulci. It is the first part of the unofficial Gates of Hell trilogy which includes The Beyond and The House by the Cemetery (I have reviewed this one).   The Plot               In the small New England town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetery which somehow opens the gates of hell allowing the dead to rise. A New York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic to travel to the town where they team up with another couple to find a way to close the gates. They have to close it before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will rise up and kill the living.   Well before I begin the review I would like to say Happy New Year and wish you all the best in 2016. This year I will be tr...

ZoeMovieReviews: Jingle All The Way

Jingle All the Way                     This is a 1996 American Christmas family comedy film and it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman, Rita Wilson, Jake Lloyd, James Belushi and Robert Conrad.   The Plot   A father promises to get his son a Turbo Man action figure for Christmas, however, every store is sold out of them, and he must travel all over town and compete with everybody else in order to find one.             Wow this is great. I am so surprised that I’d like it, purely because there aren’t that many good Christmas films out there.   The acting was good and Arnold Schwarzenegger was brilliant!! He fitted the role perfectly!!               It was very entertaining and funny at times. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This film makes me feel...

ZoeMovieReviews: Army Of Darkness

Army of Darkness                   This is a 1992 American horror comedy film directed by Sam Raimi. It is the third instalment of the Evil Dead franchise.   The Plot   A man is accidentally transported to 1300 A.D., where he must battle an army of the dead and retrieve the Necronomicon so he can return home.               Well this one was certainly different. I did like this one a lot! I liked that it was set in a different place.   The acting was really good!             At some points of this film I felt it was a little stupid, but fun at times. I did feel it lacked a little in more of the horror element. I just felt little too more action and silly rather than straight up horror. As I didn’t really know what I was going into, it did still became I reall...

ZoeMovieReviews: Evil Dead ll

Evil Dead II               This is a 1987 American horror comedy film directed by Sam Raimi and a parody sequel to the 1981 film The Evil Dead.   The Plot   The lone survivor of a blitz of flesh-possessing spirits holds up in a cabin with a group of strangers while the demons continue their attack.               Well this was bloody fun. I really enjoyed this one a lot. Unfortunately I do prefer this to the first ‘original’ evil dead film.   The acting is very good. The score suited the film nicely.   I do find that in this one there is a lot more ‘dark comedy’ side to the first one which I did prefer. A good example of this is in the scene where Ash and all the other objects in the room starting laughing; that was funny.                   ...

ZoeMovieReviews: The Evil Dead

The Evil Dead               This is a 1981 American horror film written and directed by Sam Raimi and executive produced by Raimi and Bruce Campbell, who also stars alongside Ellen Sandweiss and Betsy Baker.   The Plot Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons.             This film was great. It was a lot different to what I thought it would be like. I actually thought it be full on gore from start to finish, which it isn’t.   The acting in this film was very good. The score was as well; it suited the tone of the film.   It is definitely one of those fun 80s horror flicks for sure. The gore in this was very good, there wasn’t an extreme overdose amount of it, but wasn’t too little amount of it. That is good!!           The...
