ZoeMovieReviews: The Quiet Ones

The Quiet Ones   This is a 2014 British supernatural horror film directed by John Pogue.   The Plot A university professor and a team of students conduct an experiment on a young woman, uncovering terrifyingly dark, unexpected forces in the process.   Wow this film was good. This is a dark eerie film for sure. Unfortunately you have to be in the mood to watch because if you are not you won’t really understand it much.   I enjoyed the score to this film it made it a lot more intriguing and I recognised some of the songs which is always good.   The songs made the film bit more interesting and eerie at times.   The acting was very good. The actress who played Jane she acted brilliantly. All the characters were very interesting the Professor was a bit weird for sure.   Most of the scenes in this film are very good. My favourite part is the ending as the plot twist is very good and interesti...

ZoeMovieReviews: Smiley

Smiley   This is a 2012 American psychological slasher film directed by Michael Gallagher. It stars three youtubers:   Caitlin Gerard, Shane Dawson and Toby Turner. It also stars:   Liza Weil, Melanie Papalia Keith David and Andrew James Allen.   The Plot This plot is based on apparent internet myth. If a person on a ChatRoulette-style website types the phrase 'I did it for the lulz' three times, their chat partner will be murdered by a killer called Smiley. A mentally fragile teen must decide whether she is going insane - or will be the next victim.   Well I thought this would be great or terrible. Well it is not great. This film is more like a college horror film but with better technical filming equipment.   The acting was pretty good in this film. There isn’t any memorable scenes in this film and not much music involved.   I thought the concept idea and by the looks of the trailer it would be great. Unfortunately...

ZoeMovieReviews: Fright Night (1985)

Fright Night (1985) This is a 1985 American horror comedy film written and directed by Tom. It stars William Ragsdale, Chris Sarandon, Roddy McDowall and Amanda Bearse.   The Plot   When a teenager learns that his next door neighbour is a vampire, no one will believe him.   Well this film is just awesome. Bloody brilliant should I say, haha…   Anyways this is a very good vampire movie probably my favourite now.   The acting in this is very good. The score was great as well. I really enjoyed this film a lot. I liked the whole plot concept as well.   There are some great scenes in this film. I liked all of them, so I don’t have a favourite. I shall share some awesome ones anyways.   It is quite cool throughout the film Charley watches ‘Vampire films’ and the ‘Fright Night’ TV Show.   When Charley sees he’s neighbour for t...

ZoeMovieReviews: Shivers

Shivers   This is a 1975 Canadian science fiction body horror film written and directed by David Cronenberg.   The Plot Residents of a suburban high-rise apartment building are being infected by a strain of parasites that turn them into mindless, sex-crazed terrors out to infect others by the slightest sexual contact.   This is a very bizarre film. It is a much less gory film as I intended for it to be. I did like the film but not as much as Rabid.   The acting in this film is very good and the score to this film is good as well.   I did find at the start of the film when there is a voice over and the man is talking about Starliner Island it was very interesting.   This film isn’t shocking as I thought it would be although at the time it came out it probably would be shocking.   There are some great scenes in this film. When the man throws up and the blood lands on an old woma...
