Smiley

This is a 2012 American psychological slasher film directed by Michael Gallagher. It stars three youtubers: Caitlin Gerard, Shane Dawson and Toby Turner. It also stars: Liza Weil, Melanie Papalia Keith David and Andrew James Allen.

The Plot

This plot is based on apparent internet myth. If a person on a ChatRoulette-style website types the phrase 'I did it for the lulz' three times, their chat partner will be murdered by a killer called Smiley. A mentally fragile teen must decide whether she is going insane - or will be the next victim.

Well I thought this would be great or terrible. Well it is not great. This film is more like a college horror film but with better technical filming equipment.

The acting was pretty good in this film. There isn’t any memorable scenes in this film and not much music involved.

I thought the concept idea and by the looks of the trailer it would be great. Unfortunately the film did not fulfil the goodness in from what the trailer looked like.

Although, the second half of the film was a lot better. The best bit was probably the ending as there are a lot more horror elements involved by then. The gore in those scenes were pretty great. I just wished it been like that more throughout.

This isn’t the best horror film ever. It is an OK slasher film, something I could watch if I was extremely bored and because it isn’t a memorable film I could probably re watch it even though it isn’t great.

Overall, this was ok slasher film. It’s great in the second half and the film concept was great idea just wished the actual film was a lot better. It be great for younger teenager kids who aren’t so critical in films yet or just for a rainy day. If you find this film really cheap buy it but I wouldn’t recommend this though.

Grave Encounters This is a 2011 Canadian supernatural horror film, shot found footage style. The Plot For their ghost hunting reality show, a production crew locks themselves inside an abandoned mental hospital that's supposedly haunted - and it might prove to be all too true. Wow this probably one of the more decent and better found footage films I have seen in a long time. I liked the whole idea that it was part of their ghost hunting reality show – thought that was cool. At the start when the host was interviewing people, the part when he ask a man if he has seen any ghosts or anything like that and just gives him 20 bucks to pretend to say that he has. That was so funny! The acting was really good in this. I find that this film has a lot more interesting and creepy stuff than any of those paranormal activity films. This film, isn’t scary...
