Nekromantik
This is a 1987 West German horror film directed by Jörg Buttgereit. It is known to be frequently controversial, banned in a number of countries, and has become a cult film over the years due to its transgressive subject matter (including necrophilia) and audacious imagery.
The Plot
A street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a full corpse for him and his wife to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that his wife prefers the corpse over him.
Well this film was certainly unique and weird. I’m not too sure if I like this film or not; although it wasn’t as bad as what I thought it would be.
The score in this film was really good and I really like it. The acting was very good.
There are many weird and weird sexual scenes in this film, which didn’t bother me too much.
The scenes that bothered me the most is the rabbit and the cat. I am not going into details how they died, they died but not in a nice way. It didn’t bother how some of the people in this film died because they are people in the film and they didn’t have any character build up from them, except the main character.
The gore from the car accident in the film was pretty cool.
Overall, the acting and the score was very good. There are some scenes you may want to look away from, especially if you don’t like animal cruelty. The film itself it’s alright, because now I know what happens probably if I re watched it I wouldn’t be so bothered about the weirdness except from the animal scenes.
