ZoeMovieReviews: Shock

Shock This is a 1946 American film noir and thriller directed by Alfred L. Werker. The film stars: Vincent Price, Anabel Shaw, Lyn Bari, Frank Latimore and Michael Dunne.   The Plot It’s about a psychiatrist, Dr. Cross, who is treating a young woman in a coma-state after she witnesses a murder. As she comes out of her state, she recognises who the killer is.   Well, this film is very short but good. It is in black and white, which I found very fascinating. This is the first time ever I have seen a film made in the 1940’s which made me very interested in the film a lot more. I found this film to be enjoyable weather or not it’s in black and white or in colour.   The score to this film I really liked a lot. It in intrigued me more into the film and made the atmosphere tense at times when it needed to be.   I found the acting in this film very good. It was well acted and there was not one actor/actress who gave a poo...

Silverman.   The Plot   A young woman develops a taste for human blood after undergoing experimental plastic surgery, and her victims turn into rabid, blood-thirsty zombies who continue to infect others, which turn into a city-wide rampant.   This film was great. It was very interesting and I liked it a lot.   The score to this film suited the mood of the film very well. The acting was very good in this film. The lead role actress she played really well as well as all the other actors/actresses in this film.   The dog in the film was really cute. Moving onto the scenes!! Haha.   The scene where the woman’s been operated on in the operating theatre was very interesting. It...

ZoeMovieReviews: Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1

Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1   This is a 2013 American science fiction comedy horror film, made by Troma Entertainment. It is directed by Lloyd Kaufman. It is the fourth in the Nuke 'Em High film series.   The Plot Welcome to Tromaville High School where, the glee club has mutated into a vicious gang called The Cretins. Two innocent bloggers must fight not only the Cretins, mutants and monsters but also the evil Tromorganic Foodstuffs Conglomerate.   This film is great. I really enjoyed this alot. I thought it was slightly better than Class of Nuke ‘Em High.   There are so many great scenes in this film. The opening credits and the opening scenes to this film were great.   The scene when the cretins see one of the teachers in the park and throw her in the waterfall, that was funny. Also, when the nerdy guy eats the taco bell Tuesdays and the green toxic pours out of he’s ears and mouth was great. Then ...

ZoeMovieReviews: Horns

Horns   This is a 2013 American dark fantasy comedy thriller film directed by Alexandre Aja. It is loosely based on Joe Hill's novel of the same name. Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple stars in this.   The Plot A man is accused of raping and murdering his girlfriend and uses his newly discovered paranormal abilities to uncover the real killer.   I liked this film a lot. I didn’t really know anything about the film. That’s good thing. I thought it was enjoyable and a very interesting unique film. It has some horror elements to this film although I wouldn’t classify it as a straight up horror film by all means.   Throughout this film I thought Daniel Radcliffe did an outstanding performance. You see him as the character that he is in this film, not himself. He acted brilliantly and I think he would be great in more Horror films. Juno Temple did a great performance as well. I thought the other actors/actresses did as well, b...

ZoeMovieReviews: Hostel: Part ll

Hostel: Part II   This is a 2007 American horror film written and directed by Eli Roth, and the sequel to his 2005 horror film Hostel. The film is set in Slovakia and centres on a facility in which rich clients pay to torture and kill kidnapped victims.   The Plot   Three American college students studying abroad are allured to a Slovakian hostel, and discover the grim reality behind it.   I would just like to say I am not reviewing part 3 of Hostel as its bad. Anyways, I did like this film a lot. I find that I liked it more than part 1.   In this one I found the first half of the film to be much better and more interesting. Although this time around its college girls, they seem innocent normal girls but when they did get into the hostel and start getting tortured I didn’t care because there wasn’t any character build up for them.   There is a bit of music in this film. That did suit the tone to ...
