ZoeMovieReviews: Assault On Precinct 13

Assault on Precinct 13

This  is a 1976 American action thriller film written, directed, scored and edited by John Carpenter. The stars are: Austin Stoker as a police officer and Darwin Joston as a convicted murderer who helps him. Laurie Zimmer and Tony Burton co-star as other defenders of the precinct.

The Plot

When police officer Bishop is left in charge of Precinct 13 on the last day it's open, he isn't prepared for the  murderous street gang who have come into the possession of set of guns. Finding himself trapped in the precinct with a pair of secretaries (Laurie Zimmer and Nancy Loomis), a few civilians and a handful of prisoners. He cannot call for help because the phones have already been disconnected. The casualties mount up and the supplies run low, they must choose between a daring escape attempt, a fiery offensive, or certain death.

This film is so intense and really good. I enjoyed this film. The first few scenes at the start of the film were great.

I liked the scenes when one of the police officer hits Wilson which makes him fall of a chair- then says a witty line. That was great.

Another classic scene is when the little girl goes to get an ice cream, later on she realises it's a regular vanilla. She goes back and asks for the ice cream that she wanted in the first place one of the muderous guys from the street gang shoot her. That scene was awesome! I didn't care for her anyway because she was annoying.

Throughout the film there were alot of really good shooting scenes. The scene were the muderous gang are in the car with the sniper looking around seeing who to shoot and whatnot. Thought it was a pretty damn cool scene.

The score in this film is really good. I really liked it, it gets stuck in your head very easily. As the score is pretty awesome it didn't bother me too much that it did that. Yet again, a great score from the great composer John Carptenter.

The acting in this film is great. The only acting I didn't like was from that little girl in the film. She annoyed me, so I was glad that she didn't last that long in the film. The other actors/actresses acted well in this film. They gave great performances!!

Overall, I really liked this film. The score was great and some of those classic scenes were great as well. It was a great intense action/thriller film. The only downside to this film is that girl actress, other than that I throughily enjoyed it. I liked John Carpenters work in this. I would recommend this to anyone who is new to John Carpteners films or has seen Halloween. Also, anyone who likes a good thriller/action film.

Rating: 8.5/10

Although, the first few scenes of the film is that it’s reminding you some of things that happened in the first film. That I liked, as it gave me an idea of what happened from the first film as I only watc...

The score is very good as well. My favourite song from it was Under The Sea!   The story telling to this film is great! I liked how in some scenes the characters show actual emotion when they are sad or happy. I liked the characters apart from Ursula of course. My favourite character is Sebastian who is the red crab not lobster!   I do have a few favourite scenes from this film. The scenes whe...
