Halloween (1978)
On Halloween night of 1963, 6-year old Michael Myers stabbed his sister to death with a kitchen knife. After sitting in a mental hospital for 15 years, Myers escapes and comes back to he's home (Haddonfield, Illinois). He then stalks teenager Laurie Strode and her friends. Michael's psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis suspects Michael's intentions, and follows him to Haddonfield to try to prevent him from killing.

This film is just well it's pretty good. I know guys I have only just seen Halloween, I've always been so intrigued in wanting to see what all the fuss this film was all about. I would say its classic due to the fact it was the earlier horror slasher and it may have inspired other directors into making slasher horror film, which I would say slashers are one my most watched type of horror films. They are so much fun to watch!
The soundtrack to this film is very good. It's what makes the film so unique. It is also very clever as well, it adds a lot of more creepy and eeriness to the film. Once I finished the film the soundtrack still was stuck in my head, which wasn't a good thing.
I liked how simple the plot was. I loved all the different kills that Michael Myers did to all the innocent people in the film. They were very clever, especially at the time it came out.
In the film there was a few very interesting ways that Laurie Strode tries to kill Michael Myers. That made me laugh, honestly don't know why it just did.
The effects of the film was quite good. I enjoyed the film a lot, it's a very fun film. Although I was a bit disappointed, my expectations of the film was certainly very high. As it got so much hype at the time and now lots of people still to this day talk about it, I thought it would be slightly better.
Throughout the film I thought the actor who played Michael Myers did a great job at being very creepy and being a great stalker... Jamie Lee Curtis played a great role as Laurie Strode. The scene when she runs away from Myers and tries to get back into the house. That was great.
The annoying thing about the film is when the people left a door open and then don't shut it or that scene where the girl and her boyfriend drive up to the house and the boyfriend just leaves he's car door open. That just bothered me a lot, other than it was great fun flick.
I wouldn't say this is my favourite horror, although did enjoy John Carpenters work in this film.
Overall, it was a fun slasher film. The actors played great, although I was slightly disappointed due to the amount of hype it got for it. If anyone is new to horror but isn't sure on what films they should watch first I would recommend this, purely because it's fun, not scary (well, in my opinion) and there isn't much blood in the film.
Rating: 7.5/10
