The Eye
This is a 2008 American supernatural horror film directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, scripted by Sebastian Gutierrez, and starring Jessica Alba. It is a remake of the Pang Brothers' 2002 film of the same name.
The Plot
A woman receives an eye transplant that allows her to see
into the supernatural world. Blind for most of her life, concert violinist
Sydney Wells is the recipient of a double corneal transplant that restores her
sight at long last. With the help of her doctor and sister, she learns to see
again. Soon, however, frightening visions convince her that a terrifying
alternate world exists, and only she can see it.
This film is great. I liked it a lot not what I was
expecting, thought it would be a much more of a gory horror film. This film
surprised me a lot, I didn’t really know too much about it. I do really think it’s
a underrated film, as not many people talk about it.
The first few scenes of this film was great. The scene when Sydney
plays happy birthday on the violin I thought was sweet. There are some scenes
in this film which are good, but the loud noises make it jumpy and a little
annoying for me.
I thought all the scenes when Sydney kept seen images and
other terrifying visions were great. I really like the scene when she looks
into the mirror and sees a different person, not herself and smashes the mirror
– that was cool. Also, the scene when she sees that girl passed right through
her, was great as well.

When Sydney goes to Mexico to find more about her eye donor I
thought those scenes were very interesting. When she has to rescue the girl in
her visions I thought that was cool but weird because the doctor only sees
pretending to hold someone.
My favourite scene was when Sydney had to tell all the
people to get out of the busses and other vehicles. This is due to the fact that
she sees the little girl from her vision in the car next to her. She then
realizes that this is what her vision has been all along, to save all the
people that are about to die.
The ending to this film was sweet, when Sydney plays the violin
and she returns to her life as a blind violinist, though with a more optimistic
view of her condition.

The acting was really good. Jessica Alba played really well
as her role in the film, as well as the other actors and actresses. The score
to this was great. It suits the film well.
Overall, I really liked this. I recommend this to everyone; because it’s a film anyone can watch as long as they don’t mind some scenes are a little jumpy at times. The acting was great!! This is a great film for anyone who is new to horror, but doesn’t want to start off with the gory films first, but with something lot less and this film isn’t gory – just few images which are little scary. In my opinion they are not, but they might be for some people.
